Manual Handling Training

Make an Enquiry

Manual handling is the cause of more than a third of all reported injuries, which result in employees being off work for more than three days.

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended 2002) requires employers to conduct risk assessments of manual handling activities that their employees undertake and to provide the appropriate training.

Manual handling covers a wide variety of tasks including lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling and carrying and when any of these tasks are not carried out properly, then there is a risk of injury. An employers legal compliance with the requirement to train all employees involved in manual handling activities along with a reduction in the risk of injury can reduce both lost time through work-related injuries and/or potential employers liability claims.
