C5 – First Aid for Lorry Drivers

Professional drivers are perhaps more likely than most to come across situations where knowing basic First Aid could make a difference. The objective of this course is to give delegates the knowledge and skills to carry out appropriate first aid until professional help arrives.

The course includes:

• The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider
• Assessing an incident
• Managing an unresponsive casualty
• CPR and defibrillation
• Recovery Position
• Choking
• Seizures
• Shock
• Wounds and bleeding
• Minor injuries
  • Cuts, grazes and bruises
  • Minor burns and scalds

Dual accreditation:

Delegates attending this course have the option to gain a QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF), in addition to completing the hours required for one day of Driver CPC training. The Ofqual regulate first aid certificate is valid for 3 years.
